What I think is one of the worst things about the sludge villain incident is that the crowd totally could have saved Katsuki before All Might or even Izuku arrived.

Like sure there was fire but they could have gotten past it (14 year old Izuku did).

It wouldn't even have taken that many of them. At the very least five people.

Izuku was a scrawny 14yo kid and even he was able to pull Katsuki out a bit. Imagine what a group of adults could have done. Even if none of them were strong individually they still have strength in numbers, they could have grabbed his arm and pulled him out.

But no, an entire crowd of people and none of them did a thing when a child was getting murdered before their eyes.

And maybe that's part of why Izuku ran in. Because every time Izuku was hurt, or bullied, or literally any time Izuku needed saving there was always a (metaphorical) crowd who could have helped. Other kids, parents, teachers, literally any adult could have stepped in. But none of them did.

Izuku knows how it feels to reach out, to people he knows are there, begging for help and have no one step forward to save him. It's why he saves others. It's why he saved Katsuki.
