Early 2010s pop music really was a fever dream wasn’t it. Like take the song Get Lucky by Pharrell Williams: it had lines like “We’ve come too far to give up who we are” and “like the legend of the phoenix, all ends with beginnings” and yet the whole thing is literally just about wanting to get laid by someone you meet at the club. I mean the name of the song is Get Lucky and it just says that over and over again for like half the song. And yet I heard this song all the freaking time as a full child?? And it’s a bop?? What even were the 2010s fr
That’s what I’m sayin

Coelacanth my beloved!!
The coelacanth, often dubbed a "living fossil," is one of the most iconic and mysterious marine vertebrates. Long thought extinct until its rediscovery in 1938, only two species are known today—Latimeria chalumnae in the western Indian Ocean, and L. menadoensis in Indonesia. The latter, the Sulawesi coelacanth, lives in deep, difficult-to-access reef habitats and has rarely been observed alive. For the first time, divers using advanced technical diving equipment have filmed a live Indonesian coelacanth in situ, at a depth of over 150 metres in North Maluku, a region where the species had not previously been recorded.

- Localities from whence the Sulawesi Coelacanth, Latimeria menadoensis, has been reported in black stars. White star shows the North Maluku Province, where the first in situ sighting by technical divers was made.
This sighting is more than just a milestone in exploration—it provides critical data on the ecology and distribution of an animal that is evolutionarily unique and highly vulnerable. With few individuals ever seen in the wild, each observation adds valuable insight into how these ancient fish live and where they might still be found. It also underscores the urgency of protecting deep reef habitats that are increasingly at risk from human activities. Understanding and safeguarding the ecosystems that support the coelacanth is essential if we hope to ensure its survival into the future.

Obsessed with this art it’s so skrunkly
wanted to draw the gravity falls kids as teens, still spending summers solving mysteries :') pacifica secretly really enjoys it
Unfortunately my boyfriend’s goodnight text had a slight tone (that I very likely imagined) so I now must be sad and slightly bitter for the rest of the night until I fall asleep because there is a tiny chance that he is mad at me. Makes perfect sense
Hey everyone, I know it's going to be a busy day for a lot of people, but Google enrolled everyone over 18 into their AI program automatically.
If you have a google account, first go to gemini.google.com/extensions and turn everything off.
Then you need to go to myactivity.google.com/product/gemini and turn off all Gemini activity tracking. You do have to do them in that order to make sure it works.
Honestly, I'm not sure how long this will last, but this should keep Gemini off your projects for a bit.
I saw this over on bluesky and figured it would be good to spread on here. It only takes a few minutes to do.
OMG
Dropping this artwork of Emily and Wendell from Emily Wilde's Encyclopedia of Faeries by @heather_fawcett !(the cool mechanical pencil is BACK!) I had such a pleasant time reading the wrap-up to this trilogy in Emily Wilde's Compendium of Lost Tales. I love the transition of Emily dipping her toe into Faerie from the real world in Book #1, having a foot in both worlds in Book #2, and keeping a toe in the real world while in Faerie in Book #3. It created new backdrops and stakes through her journaling journey, with Book #3 being the stakiest stakes of the three! Absolutely love these two DOLTS (Wendell's words, not mine), the best grumpy-sunshine couple since Howl and Sophie. So sad to see them go, but this trilogy seems so easy to pick up and reread again! I want to thank @delreybooks for providing me both an arc and a hard copy of Compendium; I hope to do another papercraft standee featuring the whole trilogy set soon!
I’m so happy I get to be alive at the same time as the first live healthy photographed BABY colossal squid
I'm just-
we classified the colossal squid in 1925, put together from pieces found in sperm whale stomachs.
we've found them dead or dying or in distress, floating on the surface or entangled by trawlers.
but now
in 2025
100 years later
we finally find one alive and thriving in the deep Antarctic sea
and it's a baby.
Yess I love them
dipcifica is really funny because dipper is SUCH a romantic at heart. but his dynamic with pacifica is nurtured by the fact that they can both kind of be assholes. and verbal sparring is something they do for enrichment. so stuff like fake-arguing with her can still make him develop a case of goo-goo eyes, because he likes having a Thing with her. it's just a funny dichotomy
I mostly just obsess over fictional characters, reblog ship art, and post the pictures I take of cool animals. Enjoy.
