so... just finished the demon slayer train movie...

the way people boil down the incest plot lines in tmi to pure cringy nastiness is one of my biggest pet peeves.

the "you're my sister" scene is actually heartbreaking because it's coming from an abused sixteen year old who's abuser saw him finding strength and self worth in love, said "absolutely not", and proceeded to make him feel a level of self loathing so profound he thought he was demonic.

it's supposed to be uncomfortable to read because it's a tragic form of abuse inflicted on both jace and clary and to boil it down to "oh well it was incest fic and i hope cc doesn't have brothers and blah blah blah" just tells me you lack the ability to think critically about the series or just missed the entire point.

i'm relatively new to the anime space. my good friend got me into it when we met and is slowly introducing me to more and more series, but i have to say attack on titan is by far the best.

i could go on for hours about the writing and all of the ways it's so masterful in it's storytelling, but i actually started writing this intending to talk about eren so...

i haven't really engaged in the fandom much on account of avoiding it until the dub for the final episode came out, but i've been able to gather that eren is pretty polarizing as a character. and i have to say: i fucking adore him.

he's so devastating as a character that i just can't hate him. thinking about the way he embodies the central theme of the story so well makes me absolutely feral.

i know there's some people who just can't see past the rumbling, and i honestly understand that. but i just can't not see him as a traumatized child radicalized by the world he grew up in who got his hands on power. i think he said it best in the finale when he said he was just some idiot who got his hands on some power.

i didn't really have a point with this... i just fucking love eren jaeger so much.

so. our golden boy (man? since golden boy may as well be kit now... or matt). anyway, i just wanted to make a post to show jace herondale some love because i don’t see it nearly enough and he deserves it.

he deserves it because of how much he has grown, how well he has learnt to love and be loved, how much he cares about others, how much he has sacrificed.

specially, he deserves it because of how much he has lost and because of all the reasons he had to give up and go wrong.

he didn’t. he fought. hard. for himself and everyone else.

i just wish him happiness and love. i want him to grown old with clary, i want them to have their little family, i want him to be by alec’s side until they’re both old and gray, i want him to keep being a great brother to izzy, i want him to keep being a good friend to simon (and i want their bickering to never stop) and i want him to be an awesome friend to magnus too (even if he keeps denying it). i want him to be there for kit, for emma, for the newest additions to their family.

most of all, i want him to become the man he wants and can be. i want him to be proud of himself. i want him to stop, take a deep breath and think “ah, this is why is worthy. this is why i’m alive”.

i want him to be utterly happy and surrounded by everyone he loves.

my money is firmly on christopher dying in this book (DO NOT SPOIL ME) but i'm so very scared for matthew.
