Day 2: Spirit or space
"The gardening club was a failure."
That was the answer students at Black Vinegar Middle School had to settle for when the school’s greenhouse was permanently closed—and no one ever questioned it.
But in recent weeks, whispers and rumors had been growing throughout the school. Frightened students said it was lucky the greenhouse had been shut down, and some, bolder than others, added that the girl who once led the gardening club had lost her life inside that very glass dome.
Teruki Hanazawa was never one for gossip, but he knew reckless students wouldn't take long to sneak in and end up hurt. He also knew that the rumors might not be entirely false—just walking past the abandoned place always gave him uncontrollable chills without any clear reason...
After Teruki’s repeated pleas for the esper to come, and Mob’s many attempts to say Reigen should handle it instead, the two of them finally arrive at the back of the school.
There isn’t much to see—some students are still participating in their extracurricular activities, and everything looks... normal?
The only structure that stands out is the glass dome. It’s not that big, but it might as well be.
As they get closer, Mob notices Teruki’s steps slow until he comes to a full stop by the door. The blond insists he’s not scared and—surprising even himself more than the other boy—uses his powers to destroy the rusted chains and padlocks blocking the way.
Inside is a completely abandoned space—sunlight barely filters through the thick curtains of dust, and the wooden floor is buried under dried leaves and withered roots...
"She’s crying," Mob says as soon as he sets foot on the dirty floor. "She liked it here, but... she’s alone."
Teruki always admired how simply his friend could understand other people’s feelings, even if he’d never actually told him that.
“We can’t just... exorcise her, right?” he asks. “There’s gotta be something else we can do to help... right?”
“Maybe... maybe if we keep her company, she’ll be able to move on by herself,” the dark-haired boy replies, expressionless. “But only if you want to.”
“As long as it doesn’t take forever.” Teruki shrugs and starts walking gently, as if not to disturb the resident.
And so minutes—or maybe hours—pass with them there.
The tension blooms into comfort, and the two friends slowly forget the world outside.
Curiously, a few sprouts begin growing through the cracks, and some plants return to their healthy state—thanks to their psychic powers. The place no longer feels so sad, even though it’s still dusty and smells strongly of damp soil.
Now, whoever had been there could finally say goodbye, and watch her little prison return to the way it always should have been.
The teasing becomes playful, and a few risky confessions slip out between the two espers.
The space now feels too small—that’s the only explanation for how close Teruki suddenly gets—and Mob lets soft, nervous giggles escape without a care.
And the space keeps shrinking... and shrinking... until there’s nowhere else to go but closer to each other. They bump shoulders and knees, brush fingers, and suddenly, their lips meet.
And despite the dust, the dampness, and the time it spent forgotten... the greenhouse became a refuge. For lonely spirits—and for hearts, too.
might be just me but I find it kinda hilarious how Teru like. visibly and audibly goes heart-eyes when Mob is around. every time he sees him he has to say hi and start walking with him. he compliments him and gives him positive affirmation constantly. he drops everything no matter what to give Mob a hand or some good advice. like
oh my godd stop looking at Mob with love and affection in your eyes and a gentle hand on his shoulder while afternoon sunlight illuminates your face they're gonna think you're gay
Click for better quality, I decided to make all my terumob week art wide for some reason because ???

Personally? I refuse to get over the fact that Monkey D. Luffy, one of the most fearless, reckless, tough, impulsive, fight-happy, determined, rough, hopeful characters I have ever seen in fiction, does not have a fight reflex when he is legitimately afraid.
He has a freeze reflex.
You know how few protagonists have a freeze reflex?
You know how many One Piece characters have a fight reflex? It's probably most of them (Ace, Zoro, and Kid are pretty notable examples). And after that, flight is probably next (Usopp, Nami, etc).
But Luffy has a freeze reflex. Consistently. Sure, he's learned to push through it, to snap out of it, but when he's really truly scared? It's like he's seven and helpless all over again, and he can't move. Just for a second.
One Piece on Ice 2024: Sanji (Koshiro Shimada) doing everything with 100% enthusiasm
remembered this morning that mp100 takes place in 2012 so these are the social media sites some of the characters are active on
Reigen: canonically a facebook and twitter user
Mob: he has a facebook account. he accepts any friend request from anyone he recognises. his parents are concerned that he’s friends with so many adults that they don’t know
Ritsu: tumblr user. he also has a facebook. rarely uses either but posts a lot when he is active
Teru: again probably has facebook. he’s one of the only characters with a smartphone i think so he probably has an instagram too. after his character development he has a tumblr too because that’s the social media site he associates most with commoners. is unknowingly mutuals with ritsu. occasionally he’ll post a take so bad ritsu has to break his month long hiatus to vaguepost about him. teru doesn’t realise these are about him because he assumes all his opinions are correct and will give ritsu a response about how some people are just stupid, further angering him. ritsu has never once considered blocking teru
Tome: tumblr user. runs a pretty popular blog. also has a twitter account posting similar things to people who don’t care as much
Shou: doesn’t have any online presence because his dad is a terrorist
My part of the mp100 secret spirit exchange for @bizarre-blues ! They asked for flustered TeruMob I am here to deliver @mp100secretspirit
It’s actually killing me how canonically kind and sensitive Giyuu is.
He stitched the haori’s of his two loved ones together and wore it for years. He remembered Murata’s name after all this time. He felt so strongly about Sabito’s death he had to repress his feelings entirely to function again. He gave two siblings a chance to try to find a way to cure becoming a demon despite his duty to do otherwise. In the manga he helped Mitsuri up when Tengen accidentally knocked her over at the first pillar meeting we see. He wanted to try and befriend Sanemi by giving him his favorite snack.
The fact that he went from smiling so wide and tearing up over his friend slapping him to showing hardly any emotions at all–just so he wouldn’t succumb to the despair and hopelessness of his grief, just so he could keep living–it’s so heartbreaking.
Teruki week Day 5: Fashion
I have wanted to draw Teru wearing some peak Tokyo street fashion for awhile and found an amazing ref with a mustard suit and white boots and I knew IT WAS THE ONE.
Teru would be a man of fine suits. I also keep putting him in a mustard suits. I did that in my ageswap fic. I just think he would look fire.
Most fashionable man alive.

Mezato is a very intriguing person despite her position as a side character restricting the audience's knowledge on her, but there are some implications I have become very interested on.
During her conversation with Ritsu post-LOL Cult arc, she mentions something akin to "people really aren't born as equals", referring to how Mob is so disadvantaged compared to Ritsu even thought they're siblings. However, that also says a lot about her motivations. Mezato has two main reasons for organizing the Psycho Helmet Cult and trying to make it influent (with Mob's help as their messiah): 1) it sounded fun; and 2) she wanted to take part in such a massive event. Although the "fun" part can be attributed to the fact that well, she is a fourteen year old with a weird perspective, both motivations are directly associated to not only Mezato's passion, but her opinion on herself.
First of all, she becomes fixated on anything that appears worthy of her attention. It kickstarts her adventures as the school journalist, hunting for any kind of news that she believes to be interesting, and by that she doesn't mean "math class is cancelled": Mezato goes far beyond, from catching shoplifters red-handed to infiltrating a cult that supposedly brainwashes its members. It's clear that the mundane is not enough to her. Mezato wants the current biggest thing. This is one of the reasons she gets so interested in Mob, and being so obsessed with the worldchanging, Mezato cannot bring herself to care as much about the common, the mundane. This way, she can only see entertainment, or better put, value, in what stands out.
Equally, Mezato wants to participate in something she sees as 'big'. Being someone who is so attracted to the flashiest parts of reality, she wants to have an active, direct role regarding them. It makes her feel entertained. It makes her feel fulfilled. It makes her feel special, most of all, because even being in the Biggest Thing's shadow removes her from the condition of banality she disdains so much. That's what makes the Psycho Helmet Cult sound like such an excelent idea, as hollow and uncritical it could be.
But what does these beliefs say about Mezato? Simple. Mezato doesn't think she can be interesting or valuable by herself. She is not shown as pretty, or academically gifted, or athletic. She doesn't appear to have friends. She doesn't even have an ability with the occult like Mob does. Mezato is a normal, lonely girl who has no other excuse to be noticed besides her imprudent detective work, but worse than that, she thinks she can't change. Mezato will never be attention-worthy as herself, so she appeals to inserting herself in whatever interesting thing she finds in the hope that it'll make her Someone by association. She could be a loser, a nobody, but at least she helped build something that is wonderful, and that is the closest she can get to being important.
Her interests and achievements, in this sense, are more like an extension of herself than a result of her passion. A passion that isn't understood by anyone else. A passion that others ignore and are annoyed at, which only reinforces her loneliness and her obsession with chasing after Big Things. If she succeeds, she will finally have a part of herself she can be proud of. After all, there are a hundred wonders in the world with the potential to change everything; there is only one Ichi Mezato and she can never be like them.
